Science Unit Studies for Homeschoolers and Teachers

We were very excited to receive a copy of the book, "Science Unit Studies for Homeschoolers and Teachers".   For the past six weeks, we've been exploring this wonderful science experiment manual and implementing many of the experiments and activities in the book.

Science Unit Studies for Homeschoolers and Teachers is an experiment manual that is very different from the flashy, glossy science experiment books and textbooks found on the market today.   It does not contain lots of color photo's and graphics, instead it is filled with hundreds of science activities and experiments, accompanied by excellent information, clear instructions, detailed explanations and concise theory.  The book does contain some black-and-white illustrations for explanatory purposes and as we progressed through the manual, we found that these illustrations were just right and just enough.

The manual consists of 20 chapters, each loaded with fun activities and experiments.  It covers various sciences, including Life Sciences, Basic Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Botany, Zoology, etc.  Each chapter starts with a materials list of inexpensive items that we were able to obtain quite easily.

Our little ones, preschool and kindergarten, were both able to participate and enjoy the activities along with our older son (age 7).   This science manual can definitely be utilized with great success in a group setting, classroom, or co-op.

Our kids all get very excited when this book gets pulled off of the shelf.  It has helped to bring life to our science lessons.

We've always felt that Science should be more hands-on learning, than reading and doing workbooks.  Unfortunately we have found that most elementary science texts and curricula on the market today are very weak in practical experiments and projects.  This 200 page experiment manual fills that void.

Although Science Unit Studies for Homeschoolers and Teachers can stand on its own, we also consider it an excellent supplement to any elementary science text.  If you're looking for practical experiments and hands-on activities in your Science classroom, this is an excellent manual to add to your shelf!
